Hello! My name is Vanessa Angeles and I created this website as an online portfolio of sorts to showcase some work I’ve done in the past.
I just graduated from Wesleyan University in May of 2024 with a BA in Sociology as well as a Certificate in Social, Cultural, and Critical Theory. In my time at Wesleyan, I also participated in a few groups where I discovered a passion for using content creation for social good. At WesWell, the Wesleyan Office of Health Education, this was expressed through my creation of content that promoted the well-being of students, covering emotional, physical, and sexual topics. While WesWell provided an obvious platform for applying my skillset in alignment with my goals, I believe my work with the Wes Latin & Ballroom dance group also supported those goals, albeit in a more subtle way. By managing the group’s Instagram account and producing weekly posts and marketing materials, I was able to help in fostering a sense of community that many students, especially Latin American students, felt had been missing at a PWI like Wesleyan — and what better way to celebrate Latin culture than through dance?
My hope is to be able to use my experience in content creation to reach wider audiences and bring people together, and I’m always looking at new, fun ways to do so.
